Is there anyone else who feels, as I do, that it would be nice to wake up in the morning and find that the current political situation was nothing more than what it feels like, a nightmare?

In my sixty plus years I have weathered all sorts of bizarre political situations, but this one most assuredly takes the cake as the all-time winner. It just goes to show that the old adage, ‘Truth is stranger than fiction’ is right on point.

It just makes one wonder when all this craziness is going to end.

The odd thing is that it is not just one politician; it is pretty much across the board.

Who do these people think they are?

Is there any hope for a return to sanity? Is there any hope that we will come to terms with who we are and accept one another and perhaps deal with the actual issues of the day instead of the ones that seem to cloud them?

Is there any thought that we might sit down at the drawing board, present our issues, and then go about trying to find solutions for them, maybe compromising a little? Do some actual bargaining with each other?

When we hear some politicians speak, we wonder whether they really believe the crazy things they are proposing. Perhaps it is time to build the Great Wall of America and completely surround the continental U.S. with a high tech wall that can protect us from outsiders. The only problem is, how can we protect ourselves from each other?
