Let’s get this straight, I don’t win contests.

I have a long history of losing. It goes way back. If I do win, it is certainly nothing of consequence.

For several years now, though, I have been following the example of one of my beloved daughters-in-law. Laura says, “If you aren’t winning contests, it is because you don’t enter any.”

I took her seriously, I began to enter. So far, it is a no go, a lose/lose situation.

The other day, I got the message that I was one of fifteen finalists in a Fat Tire Tours, Paris, contest. They said they were concerned because they had not heard back from me. I couldn’t find the supposed e-mail they sent. At first I thought it was lost and then the new one they resent me was not to be found. I think, perhaps, my overzealousness with keeping my e-mail folders clean was keeping them out. That will teach me!

The message they sent to me was on Instagram and there were explicit instructions on what to do. Wednesday morning found me on the patio recording a video of why I should be chosen over others and then I had to upload it to Instagram. Starting Monday, October 23rd at 12:00 AM Central European Time, voting will begin. My guess is that since it is voting, I am for sure to lose, as even my luxuriant beard lost as best new beard in voting. Given my bad track record as far as not accepting the behavior of the new autocrat in power and my constant negative statements about his poor performance, I am sure I will be blacklisted.

Nonetheless, it sure would be fun to win. MK and I have never been alone in Paris and this would take care of that issue.

Time will tell.

Please vote for me!
