We have had several relatively nice days and had been promised the return of the rains.
We had a nice Tuesday, but as the end of the afternoon flows into the evening, the skies have darkened and they look as if they are about to open up and dump more rain on us. I hope, but I am just a bit pessimistic, that this doesn’t give us hints as to how the summer is going to play out.
It was warm, but not super warm, the kind of day that delights and does not overwhelm. Again, I hope that this is not giving us clues about the future of our summer.
I hear the sounds of landscapers, something it seems difficult to avoid these days. I am not even sitting outside, I came in because of the threatening weather.
It is a day of packing, we are about to have a little jaunt in Europe for a few days, going on a trip to Germany for a BachFest. We shall visit some towns neither MK nor I have ever seen: Dresden, Leipzig, and Hamburg. We are excited about Germany and we are excited about music. On the downside, it pains me to be flying into Frankfurt, being so close to my friends in France , and yet unable to go. We had toyed with the idea of following up our trip with a French moment, but given the time of year and that our good friend Fabienne will be in the throes of the French Baccalaureate Exam, we realized that this is the one time to avoid. We have to thus figure out when we can go.
My bags are packed. MK is out. The rains are about to begin. I am hoping that we have a window to fly out of Chicago.
