What would you do if someone separated you from your child…

Let’s talk the unfathomable. What would you do if they took your children away and there was no recourse; you could not see them again? Is there possibly anything more inhumane or cruel than that?

What would you do if all of a sudden the nearest and dearest were grabbed from you and there was nothing you could do about it? Government stupidity and nasty decisions by cruel human beings wreaking havoc to families. Think of the ramifications of this cruel and unusual punishment.

Are we civilized? Do we truly have laws to protect human beings. Are not children meant to be with their parents?

Yet, this was a scene acted out in the United States in recent times, perpetrated by the American government. The decision was made by the Trump administration to separate parents from their children at the border when there was an illegal entry into the country.

According to NBC news, by the end of 2019, more than 5400 children had been separated from their parents at the border. To add to the unbelievable cruelty of separating children from their parents, the bureaucracy was such that there was nothing set into play to ever get the parents and children back together again.

I recall seeing reporters among the children and to add insult to injury, not only were the kids separated from their parents, they were not even being properly cared for and the sites were lacking in proper hygiene and care for the little ones who were incarcerated.

How is it possible that this be allowed? How is it possible that a so-called civilization and culture would allow this to come to pass?

Empathy and kindness are apparently things of the past. Racism, hatred, xenophobia, and the mean and cruel treatment of others is the modus operandi.

I think it is wrong.

Let’s get out and vote!
