The Positive Side of Boring
What I wouldn’t give for
some boring time.
I am tired.
Tired of the drama.
The World arena,
the National scene,
the regional issues,
and even
venturing into my personal life.
It is too much.
It is a sign of the times.
The Presidency,
the Nation divided,
the World in chaos,
Insurrection at the National Capitol Building,
lies,
cheating,
criminality,
fake news,
hoaxes,
scandals,
hacking and spying,
foreign powers intervening into the politics
of other countries,
it is all tiresome.
It is all scary.
Fact checking
is
a way
of life
for responsible,
intelligent people.
Whatever happened to
believing
the information
we received
via the Media?
We plod on
in this Pandemic,
making the most
of what we have.
We do not suffer
as they did in World Wars,
but it is hard and depressing
nonetheless.
Making it normal,
given the abnormal
occurrences that abound
seemingly
every hour of the day.
Boring, oh boring, you are
so underestimated.
